Rachel Whiteread is an internationally-acclaimed, Turner Prize winning British artist. The Whitechapel façade - her first permanent public commission in the UK - is inspired by the decorative Tree of Life motif that is part of the gallery's terracotta Arts and Crafts building dating from 1901. From Whiteread's initial ideas, through the design and production stages to the completed work, this title, embellished by beautiful imagery with pinch-zoom functionality and contextualised by insights from the Gallery Director and the artist herself, guides you through every stage of the project.
The Rachel Whiteread Commission for the Whitechapel Gallery façade is part of London Festival 2012.
